Jill McDowell
FOUNDER & LIVED IN COLOR SPECIALIST
Jill is the owner and founder of East Palm Salon. She created East Palm to provide luxury hair services in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. She wants it to be a place where guests feel not only comfortable to come as they are but to leave feeling more confident than when they arrived. Her vision is for it to be a positive place for her stylists to feel inspired, creative and excited to take on the day. It’s important to her that East Palm is a space where her stylists can thrive.
Jill is a true local. She has lived in Myrtle Beach her entire life. She was educated locally and has developed her career in Myrtle Beach. For 9+ years she has worked behind the chair and for 3+ years she has been a salon owner. A few fun things about Jill is that she loves Jesus, coffee, her family, being outside, loves to be on the water, and every chance she gets she will catch a sunrise or a sunset (her favorite)! When she’s not behind the chair, you can find her working out, enjoying the sun, eating at a new spot in town, traveling, going to church, and spending time with her boyfriend!
Jill’s salon ownership journey began in a temporary space while she worked to renovate a midcentury modern commercial building in the Dunes Section of Myrtle Beach. Her dream became reality on February 1, 2024 when she opened the doors of East Palm Salon. She gives all the glory to God for being where she is today!
Jill specializes in dimensional color and lived in color/blonding. She believes the health of her guests hair is most important. She communicates with her guests in order for them to get results that are not only realistic but attainable. Over the years she has worked hard in developing her skills and techniques.
Jill wants each guest to have a relaxed and exceptional salon experience. She is very blessed to have a great team of stylists that love and support each other daily. It is important that she has a collaborative environment and she works side by side with her team and uses her knowledge and education to mentor them. She strives to be the best leader for her team and she will work to keep East Palm Salon current and connected.
Ashlyn Stevens
Color Specialist
Ashlyn has been a stylist at East Palm Salon for 3+ years. After getting her cosmetologist license in 2020, she trained under Jill as an associate for a year before stepping behind the chair full time. She is a native to the area and loves taking advantage of beach days any time she can. When Ashlyn isn’t behind the chair, you can find her spending time with her family, reading a book, or traveling with her husband. A few things she loves is Jesus, Diet Coke, and her dog Tobi. Ashlyn’s goal is not just to make you feel welcomed in her chair, but to feel loved and important. She gives God the glory for getting her to where she is today. Ashlyn specializes in lived in blonding and dimensional color. She loves to accentuate her clients features with their hair color to make them feel as beautiful as they look.
Alexis Cox
Color Specialist
Alexis is a stylist at East Palm Salon. She was born and raised in Loris, South Carolina. She received her cosmetology license at HGTC. She gives all the credit of her success to God and her family for pushing her to continue to live out her dream of (working for Jill) and making her guests feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful. She looked up to Jill throughout cosmetology school and all through the beginning of her career until finally, she became an East Palm Babe in 2022. A few fun things about Alexis are, she loves her dog Marley, loves Jersey Mikes, loves her family, loves going to church, loves spending time with her friends, and she loves watching The Bachelor with her mama! Alexis specializes in lived in color and event styling. She has worked hard since receiving her cosmetology license to perfect her skills and techniques. Her number one goal for her guests is giving them the color, cut, and style they desire while ensuring their hair stays healthy in the process.
Tatiana Silva
Marketing Intern
Tatiana is a marketing intern at East Palm Salon. She is currently a senior at Coastal Carolina University pursuing a degree in the marketing field. She is originally from Boston, MA but has been a Carolinian for 5 years now. A few fun things Tatiana enjoys is traveling, Long Beach days, playing golf, and going out dancing with all her friends. Another fun hobby of Tatiana’s is thrifting. She has built a small online business that specializes in selling women’s vintage clothing! While interning at East Palm Salon, Tatiana will also be a part of the Seventh Bay Boutique team taking charge of all things marketing & day-to-day operations for the boutique that’s located in the salon! Tatiana’s goal is to gain hands-on business & marketing experience through the salon, build new relationships, and build upon skill development.
